Aerials & Satellites for Digital Switchover
The Digital Switchover is already starting, with view to complete by 2012 when UK Television Broadcasting will be full digital with a 100% signal. Digital TV (is also known as Freeview TV) with Pay to View channels also being available on the digital signal.
Region by Region, the country is already beginning to turn off analogue signal broadcasting, and much of the country can already receive the Digital TV signal, and watch the Freeview & Pay to View channels.
With access to a clear digital TV signal, you can have access to a completely new variety of Freeview channels, as well as pay for selected digital channels. This will bring you a completely new variety of entertainment, sport, current affairs and interactive channels, as well as music radio and TV free!
There are currently approximately 50 Digital TV & Radio channels available, with the digital signal offering greater clarity of sound and picture than analogue signal; it seems a waste to wait until 2012 to benefit from this technology!
Switch On To Digital & Freeview TV
There are a number of options to receive the Freeview Digital TV services; with no need to replace your current CTV set a freeview box will do the trick.
Currently, the most common choice to receive digital signals is to have a digital TV aerial installed at your property, along with a digital receiver box. There is no requirement to replace your television, however if you do want to update your television set, you could also purchase a television with an inbuilt digital receiver, and even HD.
NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
Freeview Digital TV does not require a monthly subscription to enjoy the free to view channels. There are a number of additional digital TV channels which are available on ‘Top Up TV’ as Pay to View channels for which you will need to ensure your receiver has a access cam (CAM) Card Access Module, or a new Top Up TV cam free box which is only available from Top Up TV. You can check to see if you can receive the digital signal yet by using one of the digital TV postal code checking system, which is based upon general area signal strengths.
